THE NEW NBA SUPER-POWER

One of my facebook buddies posted " I wish Lebron would just come out and say he's going to play for The Browns. That was funny. However as my July 8th night progressed to about 8:20 CST things weren't so funny. Lebron announced his decision to leave Cleveland for the beaches of Miami. In doing so he sets the the third piece of a NBA dynasty in place as Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade both agreed earlier in the week to play for the Heat as well.

Looking back on my earlier post I figured this sort of scenario would play out, but I didn't think James would be willing to leave Cleveland. But after his announcement the owner of the CAVS has come out of the closet for being a complete asshole now its not so hard to believe. Where was this guy all year? If I knew the best player that we will ever have or see in a CAVS uniform may be leaving after the season he certainly should of tried more things to make himself visible and have a bigger impact on the outcome. But at the same time at least he is not holding his tongue and to be honest the things he said about Lebron giving up in the playoffs is true I was saying the same thing around the office the day after each loss in the series against the Celtics it seemed as if Lebron hadn't cared enough. THATS SAD. What's even sadder is that he did it to get an out to Miami, and the saddest of all.....the Heat will not win a championship right away. Unlike the Celtics who built their alive and well dynasty with experienced pieces and young up and comers in the background, the Heat have a big three but nothing to fill in the gaps...one injury away from being a 2nd round playoff team....a few veterans short of being a finals team...and a whole team of Lakers away from a championship....The Lakers are reloading quietly to make a run at a fourth straight NBA finals appearance..something Michael nor Magic ever accomplished...point being the real KING of the NBA has for some time and will remain to be Kobe Bryant...he along with his teammates have run the competition out of town..the free agent bonanza that has consumed the average basketball fans attention over the last month because of the self proclamied KINGS decision has taken eyes off the obvious. The Eastern Conference is now stacked....The Eastern teams will be battling it out while the Champs will walk through the West and be ready for any survivor of the battle of the East....and I hope with everything I have in me that the NBA finally gets their KOBE vs Lebron matchup....it would be very fitting if Kobe and the boys beat up on the NEW HEAT...and I hope they bring Shaq back to the HEat with em. Had LEbron gone to the Bulls he would have a chance with the Heat he will be waiting for more help to get his crown. For now it still sets in the West.
